In 2025, scams powered by artificial intelligence have reached alarming sophistication. Fraudsters are using AI to create fake voices, emails, and even video calls that perfectly mimic people you trust making these scams incredibly convincing and costly. Protecting yourself means staying alert and knowing what to watch for.
Common AI Scam Examples:
Phone calls with AI-generated voices impersonating relatives or trusted contacts
Emails that look like they’re from your bank/credit union, asking for login details
Video messages “from your credit union” requesting sensitive info
Fake texts linking to phishing websites
Hacked social media accounts used to request money from friends
Deepfake audio demanding urgent wire transfers or payments
Even if the message sounds real, always confirm the source independently. Strengthen your online security by enabling two-factor authentication and limiting personal info on social media.
Most important tip: Do NOT answer calls from unknown numbers.
Hang up immediately and verify the caller through a trusted contact. Stay vigilant!Your financial safety depends on it.
